In today’s competitive dive market – as it is any field – the more qualified you are, the better your job prospects will be. If you’re a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or considering becoming one), the easiest way to enhance your marketability is to get certified to teach PADI specialty courses and even the Instructor Development Course.

As a basic OWSI, you can teach four of PADI’s 25 specialty courses – Peak Performance Buoyancy, Project AWARE, Project AWARE Coral Reef Conservation and (if they work in a National Geographic Dive Center like Aquanauts) the National Geographic Portal specialty. To teach the others, you’ll need to be certified for each course.

Once you can teach 5 specialties and certify 25 students (in any course, not just specialties), you can move up the PADI Professional ladder to Master Scuba Diver Trainer. By attaining this level, you tell employers can train dive students to the highest purely recreational dive level in the PADI system of education.

Aquanauts now offers two plans to take you from OWSI to MSDT. Choose either our all-inclusive, full-featured Aquanauts Complete or budget-minded Aquanauts Value package. Both packages include:

• 5 PADI Specialty Instructor courses of your choice
• Up to 25 certifications
• Lifetime Jobs4Divers Job Placement services

Note that no mater which package you choose, the MSDT internship can be done as an upgrade to the OWSI internship or as a standalone program for already-certified instructors.

There is no also no set start date, so you can begin at any time. Furthermore, you can take a break between your OWSI internship and the start of your MSDT training.
