Ex-Aquanauts Intern Helps Raise $6,000 for PADI’s Proejct AWARE
An Aquanauts intern who trained to become a PADI instructor in 2006-2007 helped raise for than $6,000 for PADI”s Project AWARE conservation program when the Indonesia dive center where he now serves as Course Director joined five other shops in a football tournament and charity auction.

Not Quite Ready, But Happy He Tried
Canadian Kaleb Lewis came to Aquanauts in early 2010 already a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. His plan was to do his IDC Staff Instructor course and teach some courses while waiting for his mother and father — both Advanced Open Water divers — to come and work their way up to instructor. It didn’t quite work out that way. As you’ll read below, he has no regrets, saying Aquanauts is “second to none” and that he would recommend us to anyone.

How Old Is Too Old?
As we’ve noted many places on the website, internships are not just for young people. Over the years, we’ve a good number of people in their 40s, 50s and even 60s become dive instructors and divemasters. One such intern is Greg King, who qualified as an Open Water Scuba Instructor in February 2010. Internships: The Long & the Short of It
